 Two days after the Federal Government announced it had contained Ebola in the country, there was panic among residents of Port Harcourt yesterday over the death of Dr Iyke Enemuo through the deadly virus. He died on August 22.Confirming the death, Health Minister, Prof Onyebuchi Chukwu, told reporters in Abuja yesterday that somebody who had Ebola evaded surveillance in Lagos and travelled to Port Harcourt where he was treated by the deceased. Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sampson Parker also confirmed the development to newsmen in Port Harcourt yesterday. While the minister said 70 people were under surveillance in Port Harcourt, the commissioner said the figure is 100.

BISHOP APPOINTED AS THE NEW DEPUTY GOVERNOR FOR ENUGU STATE.

Revd Ifeanyi Rapheal Nwoye  has been appointed for Enugu State. . Nwoye a native of Isiogbo Nara in Nkanu East Local Government Area as the  immediate past deputy governor, Sunday Onyebuchi, who was impeached on Tuesday by the State House of Assembly over alleged gross misconduct and refusal to abide by official directives of the governor.
Nwoye, the Bishop of Christ Ascension Church, Ugwuaji in Enugu South had served as commissioner for environment in the administration of Dr Chimaroke Nnamani and as deputy chairman, Nkanu East Local Government.
Although no formal statement had been issued by the state government on the new deputy governor at press time, he was the guest of the State House of Assembly yesterday, where he was unveiled after his screening by the lawmakers.
